Jade ritual axe blade, neolithic, Shandong Longshan culture, China, c2300-c1700 BC. An almost rectangular ceremonial jade axe blade. The thin slab is pierced with two circular holes each drilled from one side. The jade is of muddy grey-green colour with white inclusions.
