Dark green jade Zhang sceptre, neolithic, Longshan culture, China, c2300-1700 BC. A zhang sceptre with a single hole drilled from one side 5.1 cms from top between two hook flanges. The other end is broader. The whole piece has gentle lines and is slightly concave on one side. The handle shows the rough broken off finish.
