Bronze dou, China, c500 BC. Eastern Zhou bronze dou with cover, with many azurite and malachite encrustations. The top knob has interlocking zoomorphic panels, the remainder of the top and base have interlocking decoration in a total of four bands. The base has a high flaring stem with traces of different decoration, the lip of the base section has interwoven rope decoration.
