Jade duck with waterweed, late Ming dynasty, China, 1550-1644. A small figure of a duck carved from a pebble. The bird's head is turned over its back holding a spray of kidney-shaped waterweed in its bill. The wings are incised with a stylised squared spiral. The base has been left plain with no indication of the feet.
