Swatow bulb bowl with qilins, Ming dynasty, Wanli period, China, 1572-1620. A Swatow bulb bowl with three stout plain legs covered (other than the base and interior) with a blue glaze of dark cloudy colour with three qilins alternating with flaming pearls in white slip with incised details. The base has a six character Wanli mark in underglaze blue under white glaze and the piece is of the period.
