Grey pottery vessel, Warring States period/early Han dynasty, China, 3rd century BC. A grey pottery vessel of broad flat based bag-shape with comparatively small mouth, its rim slightly concave. The shoulders have strap handles decorated at their top with tight curls like spreading ram's horns. The body has four sets of four horizontal incised bands of vertical 'S' squiggles all round the body from the uppermost band to below the lowest band.
