No Mistake this Time, 1877. Artist: Edward Linley Sambourne
No Mistake this Time, 1877. Punch kills two birds with one stone, in this cartoon. Firstly, the journal always enjoyed a little joke at the expense of the world of women's fashion, and here the exaggerated bustle has all the appearance of a Colorado Beetle. In fact, there had recently been a Colorado scare. After immense panic, the beetle turned out to be a ladybird! From Punch, or the London Charivari, September 29, 1877.
