Henry Seymour Rawlinson, 1st Baron Rawlinson, English general, 1917. Rawlinson (1864-1925) was responsible for successfully organising the evacuation of the British and Empire forces involved in the disastrous Gallipoli campaign in 1915. He commanded the British 4th Army at the Somme (1916) and forces under his command broke through the Hindenburg Line near Amiens in 1918.
