Mayfield Grove, off Kirkewhite Street, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, 1973. Artist: Reg Baker
Mayfield Grove, off Kirkewhite Street, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, 1973. An excellent community photograph of children playing, old ladies watching and a man walking his dog, in an area which has since been demolished. At the end of the road by Kirkewhite Street is the buttressed wall of the raised section of the former Great Central Railway. Until the 1920s, the ground floor of the electroplaters was, for many years, the Mayfield Grove Readers' Room of Nottingham Public libraries.
