Cascade House, Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, 1939. Artist: JR Board
Cascade House, Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, 1939. The Chatsworth Cascade House floodlit on the occasion of Lord Hartington becoming 10th Duke of Devonshire. The Cascade House was built in 1703 at the top of the Cascade, a series of steps down which water flows. Both are features of the great formal garden laid out by William Cavendish, 1st Duke of Devonshire. The Cascade House was designed in Baroque style by Thomas Archer.
