Execution of Robespierre and his accomplices, 1794. Maximilien Marie Isidore de Robespierre (1758-1794), French revolutionary and protagonist of the Reign of Terror was declared an outlaw by the Convention and he was sent to the guillotine with his supporters on 28 July 1794 (10th Thermidor). The scaffold is in the PIace de la Revolution, formerly the Garden of the Tuileries. Robespierre is numbered 10 in the cart left of the scaffold. Behind are 14 conspirators in two further carts.
