This book, intended for the mathematical school at Christ's Hospital, was uncompleted on Moore's (1617-1679) death and was finished by John Flamsteed (1646-1719) and John Perkins. It was a textbook for the boys of the school learning surveying and navigation, skills needed to aid the nation's trade and exploration.
