Capuchos Convent, Sintra, Portugal, 2009. Founded in 1560 by the son of the governor of India, this convent is located on a hilltop and was carved by hand out of a huge granite rock. It is also known as the Cork Convent because the tiny cells are lined with cork. The monks lived here up until 1834 when it was abandoned.
