Nave, 12th-13th century, Bayeux Cathedral (Notre Dame de Bayeux), 11th-19th century, Bayeux, France. The arcaded lower levels of the nave are Romanesque, 12th century, the Upper tiers are 13th century Gothic. The Romanesque section of the Cathedral, dedicated 1077, was reconstructed in the 12th century. Here William forced Harold to take the oath which led to the Norman Conquest of England.
