Roman Theatre, Amman, Jordan
Roman Theatre, downtown Amman, Jordan. Built during the reign of Antonius Pius (138-161AD), the large and steeply raked theatre could seat 6000 people and is divided into 3 tiers. It is built into the hillside, and oriented north to keep the sun off the spectators and was restored in 1957. View from above with cityscape of downtown Amman in the background.
