The stadium at Nemea, Greece. Artist: Samuel Magal
The stadium at Nemea, Greece. The ancient stadium at Nemea was constructed about 330 BC when the Nemean Games returned from Argos. The southern portion of the stadium was carved into a natural depression between two hills, whereas the north was built up using fill material from the excavations to the south. The stadium was in use as long as the games were held at Nemea which lasted until about 271 BC.
