The Cour de la Fontaine with its Ulysses fountain, 16th century, and the Carp Pond behind, Chateau de Fontainebleau, France. The courtyard is bordered to the west by GabrielÃs Grand Pavilion, 1750, the Queen MotherÃs Wing, 1558-65, to the north by the wing of the Francois I Gallery, 16th, 17th & 19th century, and PrimaticcioÃs Belle-Cheminee Wing, 1565-70. The Palace of Fontainebleau is one of the largest French royal palaces and was begun in the early 16th century for Francois I. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981.
