Carved capital with doves in the South gallery of the Romanesque Cloister, 12th century, of the Cathedrale Notre-Dame du Puy, or Le Puy Cathedral, Le Puy-en-Velay, Haute-Loire, Rhone-Alpes-Auvergne, France. The cloister has strong Byzantine and Moorish influences, with striped arches and a carved cornice of mythical beasts. The cathedral was built 11th - 13th century in Romanesque style, with a striking striped 3-layered facade and large cloister.
