The Punxes House, Barcelona, Spain, 2007. Artist: Samuel Magal
The Punxes House, Barcelona, Spain. The Punxes House, also known as Casa Terrades, was built in 1905. It was designed by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafach, who was influenced by the Nordic style. The facade of the Modernista building was made in brick, with stone sculptures by Alfons Juyol around the windows. The roof level is decorated with ceramics, featuring a sun clock and other national Catalan elements. Some of the artists working with the architect were: Eudald Amigo (glass), Enric Monserda (inside ornamentation) and Manuel Ballarin (forged iron).
