Detail of Joan of ArcÃs triumphant entry into Orleans, stained glass, 1860-80, by Emile Hirsch, 1832-1904, displayed in the Tour Jeanne d'Arc, or Joan of Arc Tower, the donjon or keep and only remaining part of the Chateau de Rouen, built 1204 by Philippe Auguste or King Philip II of France, in Rouen, Normandy, France. Joan of Arc was tried and tortured in this tower. It is a 3-storey building with one room per floor and a pointed roof which was rebuilt in the 19th century.
