Alexandra (1844-1925), Queen Consort of King Edward VII of Great Britain, c1890.
Alexandra (1844-1925), Queen Consort of King Edward VII of Great Britain, when Princess of Wales, c1890. The daughter of King Christian IX of Denmark, Alexandra married Edward, Prince of Wales on 10 March 1862. Princess Alix, as she was known within the Royal Family, always wore dresses with a high neckline together with choker necklaces to hide a scar on her neck caused by a childhood accident. This started a fashion craze in British society.
