Celadon brushpot with underglaze red floral decoration, Kangxi period, Qing dynasty, China, 1662-1722. A celadon and underglaze red brushpot of circular section. The exterior has two rectangular panels one carved with Taihu rock, chrysanthemum and insects, the other similarly decorated but with peonies and an insect. The flowers in each panel are in underglaze red, the remainder is in light celadon glaze. The interior and base are glazed in white.
