Gold encrusted and gilt bronze Kui dragon brush rest, Qianlong period, Qing dynasty, China, 1736-1795. A gold splashed and gilt bronze brush rest in the shape of an adult and a young kui dragon at play. The smaller dragon gilt, the larger with gold encrustations. The body of the adult dragon has a neatly incised but rather inconspicuous four character mark of the emperor Qianlong.
