Canton enamel condiment jar and cover made for Vietnamese court, Qing dynasty, China, c1820-c1840. A yellow-ground Canton enamel miniature covered condiment jar and spoon made in Canton for the Vietnamese/Annamese court. Spoon dated to 1830, jar dated 1820-40O. Of slightly compressed globular form, decorated in bright famille rose enamels with alternating stylisations of lotus amid foliage. The cover has a single lotus bloom around a small gilt spherical knob.
