Bronze fitting with silver inlays, probably a chariot axle cap, Eastern Zhou dynasty, China, 4th-3rd century BC. A fitting circular in cross-section with three raised rings and a slightly domed top with a hole in it. The top carries a silver inlay in the form of four broad pointed petals, the same motif of silver inlay appears around the shaft, alternating in upward and downward direction and enclosed within diagonal frames.
