Qingbai bowl with black glazed exterior, late Northern Song dynasty, China, late 11th-early 12th century. A porcelain bowl with slightly curved sides. The interior is decorated with a carved white prunus spray and crescent moon under a white qingbai glaze. The exterior and solid base with no footrim are covered with a thick, black crackled glassy glaze. The rim is unglazed.
