Cizhou-type saucer with pomegranate spray in polychrome glazes, Jin dynasty, China, 1115-1234.
An earthernware saucer dish of Cizhou-type incised with two sprays of pomegranate in yellow with reddish-brown seeds and green leaves and stem. A thin yellow band separates the centre from the flattened rim which is covered with a broad band of green glaze. The exterior and the base are unglazed showing the thin white underslip as well as the buff body.
