John Bull
John Bull. Cartoon on the subject of a Reform Bill. Watercolour. Political satire, John Frederick Herring Junior. Bound sketchbook of J. F. Herring (b. 1815, d. 1907) entitled Flights of Fancy by J.F. Herring Junr. Jany. 1. 1831. Watercolour and ink drawings, with ink captions. A lively early work by a talented painter who spent much of his career imitating the paintings of his better-known father, ones work is often mistaken for the others. The volume contains a large number of satirical coloured drawings relating to everyday life in Britain, mostly London, circa 1830-1831. Author J F Herring Junior.
