Small theatre of the Great temple, Petra, Ma'an, Jordan. The temple, built on the southern side of the Colonnaded street, was destroyed by an earthquake shortly after it was built in 1st century BC. Later, a small theatre in the main building, and a large terrace below with a triple colonnade on each side, were added. Petra was the capital and royal city of the Nabateans, Arabic desert nomads.
