The Memorial of Moses or Brazen Serpent Monument at Siyagha, Mount Nebo, Jordan, created by Italian artist Giovanni Fantoni, depicting a snake coiled around a cross. The monument marks the spot where Moses is said to have viewed the Promised Land before he died, as from this high point overlooking the Dead Sea and Jordan Valley, the Holy Land can be viewed on a clear day. The serpent symbolises the bronze snake made by Moses in the wilderness and the healing power of Christ on the cross. The sculpture is also thought to represent Moses' staff.
