Porch of Collegiate Church of Candes-Saint-Martin, Indre-et-Loire, France. These sculpted angels, masks, animals and vegetal designs in trefoiled niches surround the heads of Kings and saints, and give a fantastical air to the scene. They date from the 13th century. The church was built in the 12th century and fortified in the 15th, and is built on the site of the death of St Martin in 397 AD.
