'Antiochus and Stratonice', 17th or early 18th century. Antiochus I Soter (d261 BC) was a king of the Hellenistic Seleucid Empire. He married his stepmother, Stratonice, after his father, Seleucus I Nicator, disovered that Antiochus was in danger of dying of lovesickness for her. Found in the collection of the State Art Museum, Tula, Russia.
