'The Russian Army Capturing Narva on May 11, 1558', 1956. The Russians captured Narva, today located in Estonia, during the Livonian War. Ivan the Terrible ordered the invasion of Livonia after the Livonian Confederation entered an alliance with the Poles and Lithuanians, breaking the terms of a truce they had signed with Russia in 1554. Found in the collection of the State Central Navy Museum, St Petersburg.
