The theatre at Assos, Turkey. The theatre at Assos was built in the 3rd century BC. The orchestra pit was horseshoe-shaped, as was customary in theatres of the Greek period. Assos is situated 100km south of Canakkale, in the vicinity of Behram village. During its long existence it never played an important political role in history.
