Floodlit Casa Battlo at twilight, 1875-77, renovated 1904-1906, Antoni Gaudi, Barcelona, Spain. Casa Batllo, 43 Passeig de Gracia, was remodelled by Antoni Gaudi and Josep Maria Jujol for Josep Batllo, the owner of the house. Inspired by the colours and shapes of marine life Gaudi produced an extraordinary building. Its local name is Casa dels ossos (House of Bones), and its features resemble skulls (the balconies) and bones (supporting pillars).
