The Plaza Mayor, Salamanca, Spain, 2007. The Plaza Mayor is the central square in Salamanca. It was constructed by Andres GarcÃa de Quinones at the beginning of the 18th century. It has a capacity of 20,000 people and is surrounded by shaded arcades. It was originally a venue for bullfights but is currently used primarily for concerts. It is regarded as one of the finest squares in Europe.
