The Temple of Hera (Temple E), Selinunte (Selinus), Sicily, Italy. Artist: Samuel Magal
The Temple of Hera (Temple E), Selinunte (Selinus), Sicily, Italy. The present appearance of the temple is the product of recent restoration. The original building was a Doric peripteral temple with six columns in front and 15 on the sides. It was built in the first half of the 5th century BC, very probably on the site of an even more ancient construction.
