Psalm 36; man carried astride a pole, Whole folio. Psalm 36, beginning with decorative initial 'N', with a small dragon with a foliate tail. Border decoration with three animal grotesques.one with a horse's head. There is also a hooded man holding a flowering plant and an axe with a curved blade. In the lower margin, two men carry on their shoulders a pole, astride which sits a bearded naked man, carrying a bladder-balloon on a stick, the sign of a jester. A grotesque in a cloak rears up to bar their way. Image taken from the Luttrell Psalter. Originally produced in England [East Anglia]; circa 1325-1335.
