A two storeyed Palladin mansion, probably in Madras. A 'chaprassi' with a Maratha-type turban stands at the foot of a flight of steps. Inscribed on back in pencil: 'Belfort House. Our place of residence;' on original mount; 'Cadell Esq.'. Water-colour; 26 by 42 cm. Originally published/produced in c.1835.
