A sketch of William Shakespeare's family home in Stratford-uopn-Avon, where he lived for the last 20 years of his life. New Place was the name of the house which stood on the corner of Chapel street and Chapel lane. Shakespeare purchased the house in 1597. The drawing and plan of the house as it was in 1700, is by George Vertue, from memory, and recollections by Richard Grimmitt. The house was redeveloped in 1700 and demolished in 1759, Illustrated by George Vertue.
