Right; a circular zodiacal lunar scheme, with the rotary disk and pointer, representing the Sun. This device was used for locating the position of the Moon in the zodiac, to find propitious dates for blood-letting. At the four corners are the patron saints of the Guild; St John, St John the Baptist, St Cosmas, and St Damian Image taken from Guild Book of the Barber Surgeons of York.
