Nasir al-Din Haidar
Nasir al-Din Haidar (King of Oudh 1827-37) seated at a table with a British officer on his left and an English lady on his right. His hand rests on the Englishman's hand. An A.D.C. stands behind his chief. The table is spread with glasses and dishes. Four Indian ministers stand on the left and a party of two dancing-girls and two musicians on the right. In the background an elaborately stuccoed doorway with chandeliers and glass shades; in the foreground a fountain and flower beds. By a Lucknow artiSt Opaque water-colour. Lucknow style .
