Ibrahim a Malay Moonshee. Maria Graham encountered Ibrahim the most learned of the Malays while spectating at public debates at Government House in Calcutta during October 1810. Ibrahim was in the company of John Leyden the versatile civil servant and scholar and his account of the occasion translated by Leyden appears as an appendix in Maria Graham's Journal of a residence in India.
