Tao Hongjing the Hermit of Flowered Brightness, Tao Hongjing (451-536 AD) began pounding rocks to make Daoist/Taoist elixirs of immortality ( according to Gao Hong's recipes). At the age of 10, a good lute player, he took the name the hernit of Flowered Brightness, lived in a mountain cave and took cinnabar together with all his dsciples and ascended to the clouds.
