Odeon Cinema under construction, Leicester Square, Westminster, London, 1937. Cellulose nitrate negative. The Alhambra in London's Leicester Square was demolished in 1936. It was replaced by the Odeon chain's flagship, steel-framed cinema, with its distinctive tower and polished black granite exterior. It was one of scores of Odeons recorded by the photographer John Maltby.
