A European copy of a Chinese Imari plate decorated in the centre with floral group of peonies issuing from rock and bamboo. The cavetto is undecorated and the wide rim is covered with a dark underglaze blue enhanced with gilded flower groups punctuated by white roundels containing formal florets in rouge de fer alternating with four ogival white panels of fish and lotus and shrimp and water foliage. The reverse is undecorated. The base has an underglaze blue double circle.
