RAF Filton, Bristol, April 1944. In the Second World War the Bristol Aeroplane Company aircraft factories made Filton a target, and after a bombing raid in 1940 an RAF fighter squadron was based here. Prior to D-Day it became an assembly plant for US aircraft shipped across the Atlantic.
