Sergei Yesenin, Russian poet, with other poets of the Imaginism group, c1918-c1925. Imaginism was an avant-garde poetry movement that developed in Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917. Yesenin (front left) (1895-1925), one of the most popular Russian poets of the 20th century, was a member of the movement. He committed suicide in 1925 after being hospitalised following a mental breakdown. Found in the collection of the State Museum of AS Pushkin, Moscow.
