'The Waterloo Chamber, Windsor Castle, Fitted as a theatre for the State Plays of 1891', c1891,(1901). Queen Victoria (1819-1901) commanded the Inspector of Windsor to build a stage and set the Waterloo Chamber as a theatre. On 6th March 1891, the company of the Savoy Theatre performed Gilbert and Sullivans, The Gondoliers, with complete orchestra before the Queen, Royal Family, the household and guests.
