The Queen Mother's Garden, Walmer Castle and Gardens, Kent, c2000s(?). Walmer Castle was one of the coastal Device Forts built by Henry VIII. It became the official residence of the Warden of the Cinque Ports, a position held by the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother from 1978 until her death in 2002. Designed by Penelope Hobhouse, the garden was a 95th birthday gift given to the Queen Mother by English Heritage in 1997.
